Biodur® 108 is a nickel-free austenitic stainless steel which exhibits good toughness and mechanical properties, fatigue properties and corrosion resistance superior to those of Stainless Steel 316L.
Substituting the Nickel content for Manganese allows it to maintain its fully austenitic microstructure in all conditions, the Pressure-ESR remelting process ensures a fine and clean microstructure. This steel is free of all delta-ferrite and is non-magnetic, satisfying the requirements for ASTM F138.
