This grade simulataneously meets the chemistry requirements of both 304 and 304L due to its low Carbon content, which also reduces its risk of sensitization risk in the temper range 450-800°C. It has a relativel low magnetic permeability in the annealed condition which can almost double after cold working. 304/304L is workable up to 400°C and has a reasonable corrosion resistance in chloride-free salt solutions.
